Duncans produce VoteLOUD theme song. - June 28, 2006

I was excited when the opportunity came up for me to work with VoteLOUD on a theme song.
VoteLOUD is a voter registration campaign that targets us...young people coming up who might not have registered to vote yet. This campaign lets us know that we can make a difference in this world, and one of those ways is through the awesome privledge of voting.
That being said I can get behind the mission and support it.
Interestingly enough the story behind how the track came to be is pretty different.
At least a year ago my younger brother Evan and I were messing around on my laptop hoping to make a sick beat. We made the basic track with a program called Fruity Loops and then started adding in samples from my Acid Music sampling library. The end result was a pretty nice track, but for the longest time I couldn't seem to find the right words or song topic to put to the beat. So the beat just sat there...unused.
Finally the VoteLOUD opportunity came up. I knew I wanted to create a song that had lots of energy and passion to it, and that beat came to my mind. Rather than work to create another track I decided to start putting words to the one I already had.
At that point it all just seemed to fall into place. The tempo and energy were both right for VoteLOUD.
We ended up recording the song the very day I decided to share the lyrics I had been working on with Tony and Christian from the VoteLOUD team. The hook wasn't even totally decided on until we were already in studio. It just seemed to fit the track. It naturally developed as we went and the theme song was born.
You can check out the song on VoteLOUD.com. Just click the "Theme Song" link at the bottom.
It was definately special to see the beat that Ev and I worked on together end up being the one we used. I guess God was letting us save that track for just the right time.

A Prayer - June 28, 2006

Dear God, I can’t recall the first time I sensed Your holy presence, but I do know that I have sensed it. As I ponder the times I have seen You work I have searched my mind for any remembrances of earth shattering, thunder-clapping, sea-parting miracles. But the fact is, I have never had any such experiences. I have however, "experienced" Your truth as I read and study Your Scriptures. I have felt Your love for me Jesus, as I have meditated on the fact that You cared enough about me to die and rise again.

I thank you that you have made me in Your image. I thank You that You are eternal...that You are eternal in Your power, Your genius, Your love, and Your forgiveness.

God I praise You and thank You for all that I know about You, but I don’t want to stop learning. You are truly an inexhaustible topic and I just wanna learn more about You and know You more. But I know that I can’t reveal You to myself. Please Lord reveal yourself to me through Your Word and Your Holy Spirit.

Well, I'm married! - June 22, 2006

Yes it's true. I am married, and it truly is amazing. God brought me and Joanna together in such a special way and we really are best friends. Now I don't want anyone to throw up all over their keyboard or mouse pad so I'll spare you all any more mushiness about how much I passionately love Joanna...oh wait. Was I doing it again? Anyway our weddig was sweet. We pretty much packed the church (except for the balconies) and we really felt God's presence there. Check out the pictures area of this site to see some shots of the wedding.

The Life Issue - May 18, 2006

This is a transcript of a radio show "The Public Square" written by Dave Zanotti. I thought it would be great for everybody to read. Seriously, check it out.

"Since 1973 every American has heard about Roe v Wade but did anyone ever tell you the entire case was based on a lie?

By ruling on two abortion cases, Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton the US Supreme Court redefined abortion law for every state in the union. Now thirty years after the cases were heard, the key plaintiffs, Norma McCorvery, AKA Jane Roe and Sandra Cano, Jane Doe have come forward to admit both cases are built upon false testimony. In the Roe case, McCorvey admits she lied to her attorneys claiming she had been raped. Her lawyers told her the case only applied to Texas law. When she discovered her case went to the Supreme Court and legalized abortion nationwide she attempted suicide.

In the case of Jane Doe, Sandra Cano is certain her case was filed under totally false pretense. She was seeking a divorce in Georgia and custody of her children. She claims she never filed an affidavit seeking an abortion nor made a request of a panel of nine Georgia doctors. She is certain her attorneys even faked materials in television interviews. She claims to this day she was wholly deceived and never wanted an abortion.

So how could this happen? Both women, who were poor, homeless and extremely vulnerable claim they were exploited by politically motivated pro-abortion legal teams. Are they telling the truth? If you'd like to read more about these two landmark cases and the comments of the women who launched them click here or call us for a free copy of a recent interview of both women, published by Focus on the Family."

I'm getting married! - April 28, 2006

For those who don't know, I proposed to the love of my life (Joanna) this past Christmas Day...and she said yes! Joanna and I are going to be married this May and we are both really excited and counting down the days.
We are also working on a new joint album project. We are going to be blending our two musical styles and bringing a powerful organic sound to the project. The new album will be filled with live instrumentation and we feel that it is going to break musical ground. We have two songs recorded so far, and we are pretty pleased with the direction the album is headed.
We both love expressing our passion for Jesus Christ though our music, and it is a great blessing to be able to do that together.

Two More Songs! - April 28, 2006

I just put two more songs up in the music section of this site. One is called "Let's Go!" and the other is called "Emergency."
Both of the songs are off the "Fisherman" LP, and they speak about the reality of our plight as humans...we are sinful and we need a Saviour. Jesus is that Saviour and those songs speak about our need of Him, and the great gift of salvation He wants to give to us.
Click over to the music section and check these joints out! I hope you can feel 'em!

"Fisherman" the album - December 12, 2005

After years of work, prayer and waiting my first album "Fisherman" dropped last year. Since I haven't really had a huge web presence many people may not even know that the album exists. It does, and if you are sick of the current mainstream garbage then you should probably check it out. It's an album from my heart, and it's an album that I feel pleases the only One I really rap for...Jesus Christ. I am currently working on some distribution plans for "Fisherman" through several avenues (namely cdbaby, iTunes, and Napster) but until those come through just contact me if you are interested in the cd. You can listen to four full-length songs on the music section of this site to hear what I'm all about.

Freedom's Cafe a Blessing - December 11, 2005

Ministering at the Freedom's Cafe last night was a great experience for Joanna and me. We were able to share our music, and the message of Jesus Christ in a really nice laid back setting. The cafe is just now opening to the public down in Rittman Ohio and everyone that runs it seems real cool. We met alot of great people there and definately would like to go down there again.
